The latest stable openmosix kernel that portage wants to install is linux-2.4.25-openmosix. However, according to http://mcaserta.com/openmosix/, this kernel version is still in the testing phase. Is this deliberate, or shouldn't the latest stable version be openmosix-sources-2.4.22-r4? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I consider the lastest patches from tab as stable when he releases him as stable. So the latest version should be openmosix-sources-2.4.24 and should use http://mcaserta.com/openmosix/stable/patch-2.4.24-om-20040127.bz2 As i did not bump to 2.4.25 i'm reassigning this bug now.
OK, now marked as "~x86". Thanks.
I've asked on the Openmosix mailing list whether Tab's patches are considered stable. According to the reply, shouldn't it be better to stick to 2.4.22, just like before? At this moment I do not consider the 2.4.24 patch stable. Therefore it is not to show up on the official pages yet. If you want a stable cluster stick with 2.4.22.
I've now added 2.4.25-r1 which has a newer snapshot from tab and it's now masked as "-*". Thanks.
