After fishing around, I noticed that openoffice has a *very* sexy document (GUI scripting-included) for automatically downloading and installing language packs for spell-checking, grammer, hyphenation, thesaurus, etc. This allows me to work in various languages independantly of the localisation of the openoffice applications themselves. It would be very useful I think if there were some virtual/pseudo package for openoffice-i18n that would manage this in some way, even if purely to provide information to the admin struggling to figure out what to do. My initial actions to try and figure out how to expand the language support stumbled on this, because the norm is for the portage tree to contain some hook for internationalisation (eg. kde-base/kde-i18n). FWIW. Thanks again for a great packaging and build system.
This is not true anymore, OOODict - which I think you are refering to - is now included in OOo by default. About sole packages: This would mess up the portage tree to much, so won't do it. Thanks for reporting anyway!
