Description Aaron Jones 2012-06-29 23:09:11 UTC
Please remove the 2 "--enable-stats" lines from the net-firewall/ipsec-tools ebuilds, as it produces hugely verbose (on the order of hundreds of syslog messages), needless and uninterpretable performance statistics for every association/connection made, even when racoon is only told to log errors.

This alone accounts for more than 90% of my syslog file and I'm only doing IPsec with 2 other hosts.

It was already made optional in the 0.8.0-r3 ebuild, it would appear. Maybe that can go stable now?
Comment 2 Aaron Jones 2012-07-06 16:50:04 UTC
That would be nice yes, or for the option to be back-ported to the 0.7.3-r1 ebuild. I don't mind either way as long as both are stable.

Stabilization on 0.8.0-r3 has begun, bug #326647.
