Description Joe 2012-06-29 11:40:00 UTC
Tried this both with and without the jit useflag, as well as both with the portage ebuild from ~amd64 and with a custom ebuild applying the patches from bug 421009.

build.log for qt-webkit-4.8.2 from ~amd64
Comment 2 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-30 10:05:13 UTC
I was waiting for this report :P

I guess qt-webkit needs a similar patch to that in bug 421009, since there's another copy of JavaScriptCore in src/3rdparty/webkit
Comment 3 Joe 2012-07-01 06:22:12 UTC
Hi Davide,

Yes -- it appears very similar. I tried the patch from 421009 (copied the ebuild into an overlay, added an epatch statement) but it doesn't appear to fix the problem, however.
Comment 4 devsk 2012-07-17 05:08:01 UTC
Is there a hope of seeing a patch for this? This is blocking kdelibs build and the whole desktop behind it. kdelibs is peculiar because it builds all the way to 75% and then fails for lack of qt-webkit. Strangely, the ebuild does not depend on qt-webkit. I don't know why.

If there is a patch, we will apply it. If not, this is low priority for us, as x32 is not an officially supported platform.

If the dependency calculation for kdelibs is off, then that is a separate bug and should be reported to our KDE team.

The patch for jsvalue

This patch works qt-webkit as well as webkit-gtk. I don't know why these projects have so much of duplicate code...:(

If you can reproduce this, please do file a bug with full build log - I definitely would like to take a look.

This is an adaptation of my qt-script patch right? (as I said in comment #2)
Comment 9 devsk 2012-07-20 18:55:30 UTC
Yes, it is an adaptation which makes it work. I still can not compile with jit though.
Comment 10 Joe 2012-07-21 04:09:15 UTC
I put gt-webkit and webkit-gtk in an overlay, and can confirm that the fsvalue patch attached to this bug allows both to build on my system. Thanks!

Still no KDE4 due to a different failed dependency, but this at least allows midori to compile (webkit-gtk), so I know have a web browser in x32. :) (from which this was posted...)
