Description Martin Klaffenboeck 2004-02-21 10:21:54 UTC
Hello, I have (all versions of) qt in my /etc/portage/package.mask, so I don't want qt based programms.

Until now, I could install opera without qt. Today I got:

Calculating world dependencies -
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "=x11-libs/qt-3*" have been masked.
!!! possible candidates are:
- x11-libs/qt-3.3.0-r1 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-libs/qt-3.3.0 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-libs/qt-3.1.2-r3 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-libs/qt-3.0.5-r2 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-libs/qt-3.1.2-r4 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-libs/qt-3.2.3-r1 (masked by: package.mask)
!!! (dependency required by "net-www/opera-7.23-r1" [ebuild])

!!! Problem with ebuild net-www/opera-7.23-r1
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

For me that means opera needs qt. But are you sure this is fact? Or could this be also done with use flags?

Martin

just use the static version, it won't need qt
