I just emerged Qt-3.3.0 and now when I start Konversation and hit the "Connect" button, the UI is screwed up and doesn't draw itself the way it should be. I even tried re-emerging konversation but it didn't help. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge qt-3.3.0 2. emerge kde-3.2 3. emerge konversation Actual Results: UI is screwed Expected Results: UI should draw normally Portage 2.0.50-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.6.3-mm2) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.3-mm2 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.3.13 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.7.7 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs buildpkg ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirrors.tds.net/gentoo ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X aalib alsa apache2 apm avi berkdb cdr crypt cscope cups curl dga encode flash foomaticdb gd gdbm gif gpm gtk2 imlib java jpeg kde libg++ libwww mad mcal mikmod mmx motif moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mpeg mysql ncurses oggvorbis opengl oss pam perl png python qt quicktime readline samba sdl spell sse ssl svga tcpd tetex tiff truetype vim-with-x x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib"
I found that this can be solved emerging konversation 0.13, ebuild already in portage. Developers, please mark it stable, and make both 0.10 and 0.12 uncompatible with qt 3.3; konversation 0.12 is not giving exactly the same error, but does not work either in kde 3.2 with qt 3.3.
Same problem with konversation-0.13 here...
0.13 is now stable. Marking it as an upstream problem - please contact the authors and see if they'll release a version that's compatible with Qt3.3
