Do you have correctly libxml2 installed

Also there seem to be some warning about your pkg-config maybe that can be culprit:

I don't have this warnings printed around on my setup.
Comment 5 Marc Grondin 2012-06-26 18:08:40 UTC
i do have libxml2 installed
emerge -av libxml2

 * IMPORTANT: 5 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news to read news items.

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] dev-libs/libxml2-2.8.0-r1001 USE="ipv6 python readline -debug -doc -examples -icu -lzma -static-libs -test" PYTHON_ABIS="2.7 -2.5 -2.6" 1,487 kB

I realized that i had pkgconf installed instead of the actual pkgconfig(not sure if a real difference...switched to pkgconfig trying to rebuild libreoffice now will update...
Comment 6 Marc Grondin 2012-06-26 19:14:55 UTC
Built 100% with no issues. Seems the problem here was really with pkgconf.

thank you for your help.
Comment 7 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-26 19:19:05 UTC
Closing the bug per above comment.
Comment 8 Jeff (JD) Horelick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-07-02 05:45:32 UTC
Please try rebuilding with dev-util/pkgconf-9999

Many fixes have been made (including for this issue, we believe), so if you could try it to see if this bug has been fixed, that would be great.
Comment 9 Marc Grondin 2012-07-02 15:08:43 UTC
sorry to say that even with pkgconf-9999 the build fails with same error.
Comment 10 Richard Yao (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-07-10 09:02:41 UTC
The issue appears to be that pkgconf does not support --errors-to-stdout.
Comment 11 Jonathan Vasquez (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-07-16 09:02:01 UTC
I built LibreOffice on Gentoo with no problems yesterday,

However, building it on Funtoo with the pkgconf package and not the pkgconfig package caused LibreOffice to fail. Once I replaced pkgconf with pkgconfig, it built successfully.
Comment 12 Jeff (JD) Horelick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-07-21 01:15:28 UTC
I keep going on about this, I know, but please try with dev-util/pkgconf-9999 .

We believe we have it fixed and i'm currently build-testing libreoffice, and if it works, a new pkgconf should be released today or tomorrow.
Comment 13 Marc Grondin 2012-07-21 01:25:30 UTC
trying to build as well now with pkgconf-9999
Comment 14 Marc Grondin 2012-07-21 02:18:13 UTC
yep works now with pkgconf-9999. Thank you.
Comment 15 Jason Lamb 2012-07-21 02:42:55 UTC
Second confirmation. Emerging dev-util/pkgconf-9999 tonight did allow me to emerge app-office/libreoffice-3.5.4.2-r1 cleanly.

Thanks..!
Comment 16 Jeff (JD) Horelick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-07-21 03:57:46 UTC
This is fixed for me too so i'm going to resolve it as fixed as it works on pkgconf-9999 and pkgconf-0.8.1 which I just added to the tree.
Comment 17 Jason Lamb 2012-07-21 15:55:09 UTC
I can confirm on my system that dev-util/pkgconf-0.8.1 allows app-office/libreoffice-3.5.4.2-r1 to be emerged cleanly now.

Thanks again..
