I am the original author of the tachyon ebuild, so it is possibly something I overlooked at the time. I have been working on a new ebuild that add correct support for OS X on prefix so I will solve this as well before posting an ebuild.
oops I forgot I already filled for the OS X and it has been "solved". I will look into the use flag situation nonetheless.
