Pathan is a open source library which allows developers using Xerces-C to parse and evaluate XPath expressions for XML node selection.

Pathan 1 supports the W3C XPath 1 specification.
An alpha version of Pathan 2 has been released and aims for full XPath 2 compliance.

Pathan is a dependancy for Berkeley XML DB, as requested in bug #24473

Would like to see this package in Gentoo, as I'd like to play with Berkeley DB XML.

I don't have any idea how to use this package, so maybe someone else could take a look at it. In between the depend statement is broken, as a fully qualified package name is needed for xerces-c

Latest is 2.0.0 - released in August 2004 - so the development seems basically dead. Also, this ebuild bundles dev-libs/xerces-c, cannot be used as is.

WONTFIX for the reasons stated above.
