From our convo in #gentoo-dev: <Azarah> basically we have keepdir_mount() that check if something is mounted, and if, do not keepdir <Dr_Who> Azarah: thanks for the note back! <Azarah> so, if one machine have /dev and /mnt/cdrom, etc mounted, and another not, the second will not have them created if they do not exist <Azarah> Dr_Who: np =) <Azarah> seemant: so, <Azarah> seemant: err, that is basically a portage issue, and I have talked to nick recently again about it, <Azarah> seemant: but i do not know when it will be fixed <Azarah> seemant: oh, i think the original problem was because pkg_postinst() made use of stuff in $S <seemant> Azarah: ahh ok <Azarah> seemant: still does here and there ... <Azarah> seemant: maybe mention keepdir_mount - could maybe do a list when it is called that gets saved to /usr/share/baselayout/, and if whatever do not exist in pkg_postinst(), create it <Azarah> seemant: ditto goes for rest of things needed in $S - add put them in /usr/share/baselayout/ .. <Azarah> /add put/put
also the DIR_COLORS file will be provided by coreutils-5.1.2 and up (I'll put it into the previous versions as well).
Should be fixed with 1.8.6.13-r1.
