Description Stephane Loeuillet 2004-02-19 07:13:21 UTC
with 0.99.11 and samba 3.0.2, i've got problems at the end of file copying from linux to a win98 share.

it stops and write to console where nautilus was launched :
nautilus: relocation error: /usr/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/libsmb.so: undefined symbol: smbc_chown

bumping to 0.99.12 or 0.99.13 isn't an option as those are for gnome 2.5 only

got no problem to copy files with 0.99.10.

so, 2 solutions : fix 0.99.11 or mask it

#41523 is related

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

lower your cflags.

check if gdk-pixbuf-csource actually works (in your source dir)
Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-29 09:53:32 UTC
wrong comment...

hmm masking seems a solution to me. basic smb support is to be moved to gnome-vfs anyway afaik, so this module will no longer be needed.

I can't test this stuff myself, any other dev with this in his setup who can work on this please ?

Comment 4 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-29 10:08:37 UTC
i'll look into this. i can reproduce this against a macosx box running samba.
Comment 5 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-25 11:09:46 UTC
is this still a problem with the samba support in gnome-vfs-2.6.x ?
Comment 6 Stephane Loeuillet 2004-04-26 09:00:25 UTC
as expected, i no more have the problem with gnome-vfs 2.6, it's a 2.4 only bug.
could be marked as WONTFIX as it has really little chances to be fixed upstream
Comment 7 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-19 14:47:08 UTC
and in the end it happens... your bug, you could've closed it yourself.
