Description Nicolás Echániz 2004-02-18 17:45:40 UTC
dbf2mysql imports dbf (FoxPro, dBase, etc) table structure and content to mysql.

Last version seems to be mantained at debian by frankie@debian.org
Previous version is dbf2mysql-1.14 and source code can be grabbed from the mysql site at this URL:
http://www.mysql.com/get/Downloads/Contrib/dbf2mysql-1.14.tar.gz/from/pick

The debian version seems to fix a couple of problems with the previous one.

dbf2mysql-1.14.ebuild

This is not from the debian sources but straight from the mysql page.

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accomendate you on a timely
manor. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise
overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and
all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay.
So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your
ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We
anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.

upstream source
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/d/dbf2mysql/

This package has been abandoned several times. Written by Maarten Boekhold in 1995 then, patched by Michael Widenius in 1996, updated by wilane in 2001 adding a mysql2dbf side of the package bringing it up to ver 1.14 and has seen no updates since.

The ebuild has a depend of mysql-4 which is incorrect. This package requires libc and libmysqlclient per debian.
https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/dbf2mysql
https://packages.debian.org/source/wheezy/dbf2mysql

mysql-4(no longer in Portage Tree) was not as strict as the current mysql-5. it is unknown if this package is compatible with current stricter mysql-5.
