Current version of net-dns/knot in portage is 1.0.0, while upstream has 1.0.5 out for some time now. Many improvements and bugfixes have been added to knot meanwhile.

Please update the ebuild to the latest version. I tried simply bumping the ebuild version number, which worked for me.
