Created attachment 315473 [details, diff] 0001-add-usr-libexec-cups-filter-to-the-filter-search-pat.patch Well, I could reproduce the problem when one of my printers had an issue and the test/diagnose dialog popped up and told me that the filter could not be found. The problem is that system-config-printer should not have fixed paths but it should be set to "$(cups-config --serverbin)/filter" at compile/configure-time. The attached path follows what upstream cuurently does and just adds /usr/libexec/cups/filter to the list of filter-paths.

Thanks dev-zero & poncho. I think for now we can live with this patch as a workaround. When upstream fixes is to use cups-config, patch will be dropped.
