Description Jan Kundrát (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-18 11:31:22 UTC
Using Gentoo GRP 20030911, no updates, after emerge kde:
When X comes up and I type username&password, KDE says:
Could not read network connection list.
and complains about not running DCOP server. There's also error message unableto find /home/[uname]/.DCOPserver_[hostname]__0 - in my case /home/honza/.DCOPserver_amd1200__0. This happens for both non-root and root users.
Problem has been fixed by "emerge -k fam-oss".
Solution: add fam-oss as dependency for KDE.

Reproducible: Always

This is actually a dup, but I can't find the original bug. it has been fixed a long time ago - but obviously it isn't something we can change on an already built grp package. The solution is to either emerge fam or use a newer binary package.
