I have not found a correct keymaps for a standard azerty French keyboard. £,¨,§,µ,ù,² are incorrect.
Comment 2 M Grundman 2004-02-19 01:46:03 UTC
I compared gentoo keymaps with one distribution of Mandrake. Maybe fr-latin1(9?) is incorrect, it does not give the same result.
Comment 3 M Grundman 2004-02-20 06:28:03 UTC
I noticed that "section", "sterling", "currency", "mu", "ugrave" and maybe others are defined well in the keymap file but they are printed badly.
Comment 4 M Grundman 2004-03-16 06:07:46 UTC
I use the keymap "fr-pc" and keymap seems to be correct :

keycode 27 = dollar sterling currency
control keycode 27 = Control_bracketright
alt keycode 27 = Meta_bracketright

However there is no "sterling" but "uacute" when I type on the console keyboard.
There is no problem under X11.
Comment 5 M Grundman 2004-03-16 06:56:57 UTC
I think that the default console font default8x16 is broken. When I set a console font to lat1-16 everything is OK.

lat[19] are the fonts to choose with a non-ascii layout.

This bug seems to be fixed, shouldn't it be closed.
