When I try to run Gnucash from a command prompt, I get the following message:

ERROR: Unbound variable: include-deprecated-features

When I attempt to emerge Gnucash, I get an error message about guile not being installed correctly (version check didn't pass).  I'm running Gnucash version 1.8.8 and version 1.6.4-r1 of dev-util/guile.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a termainal window.
2. Type gnucash <ENTER>
3. Error message is displayed.

Actual Results:  
The following error message is displayed:

ERROR: Unbound variable: include-deprecated-features


Expected Results:  
Gnucash should have started.

The problem still persists under the Gentoo-sources-2.4.26_pre6 and I've got version 1.8.8 of Gnucash installed.

I have the same problem with version 1.8.9. If I remember good, I have had this problem with version 1.8.8 too. I don't know if it is related to guile, but I have these guile versions:

/var/db/pkg/dev-util/guile-1.6.4-r1/guile-1.6.4-r1.ebuild
/var/db/pkg/dev-util/guile-1.4-r3/guile-1.4-r3.ebuild

The last one version of guile I have installed is the 1.4-r3 version because of error with libguile.so.9.

I've made some cleanup and reinstall of some packages recently, but I'm not sure whether this error is related to this because I haven't run GNUCash for week or two.

It looks like I'm able to get Gnucash running now.  When I initially tried to  emerged the 1.8.9 version of Gnucash, I got an error about not having the correct version of guile installed (I have version 1.6.4-r1).  I re-emerged guile and then emerged gnucash.

When I tried to run gnucash as a non-root user, I got an error that the following directory didn't exist:

/usr/share/guile/site

I su-ed to root and then ran gnucash, closed the program out and then re-ran gnucash as my normal user account and everything appears to be working fine.

I have just rebuilt guile-1.6.4-r1 and GNUCash now starts without problems. I haven't had to rebuild the gnucash.

As far as I'm concerned, this bug can be closed.  It looks like it was either a problem with Guile or an older version of Gnucash.  I'm running without a problem now.
