qemu-1.1.0-1 has been available since the 1st June. The glib dependency would need to be changed to >=dev-libs/glib-2.12. Also, the build system now supports a "make test" target.
Qemu 1.1 has been released but not qemu-kvm 1.1 so this is premature.

You sent the commit where they changed the version number to 1.1.0 in qemu. Remember, qemu-kvm is based on qemu. Anthony maintains qemu. Avi maintains qemu-kvm. Look at git, there is no 1.1.0 tag yet.

The reason it hasn't been released is because of a regression that has been found. https://bugs.launchpad.net/qemu/+bug/1002121 Once that's solved it's ready to go.
