Comment 1 Michal Januszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-17 16:22:59 UTC
Could you check if this problem still occurs with the newer versions of gentoo-dev-sources (`ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -u gentoo-dev-sources`)? If it does, please send me your bzImage, drivers/video/bootsplash/decode-jpg.o (from your kernel tree - either 2.6.2 or 2.6.3), the config file you're using and the jpeg file.
Comment 2 Michal Januszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-17 16:25:05 UTC
Errmm, I'm sorry, this should have been vmlinux, not bzImage :)
Comment 3 S.Caglar Onur 2004-02-18 03:08:36 UTC
I will check then new version with ~x86 but there is something new;

After i submit this buq , i reboot my comp. and i saw no error. Then i restarted 5-6 times. But there was no error. What is going on? Current dmesg follows;

Perhaps you should consider running memtest86 or memtest86+ for a few hours to see if everything is OK with you RAM?
Comment 5 S.Caglar Onur 2004-02-20 08:20:38 UTC
I tested RAM with memtest86 about 4-5 hours, nothing interested. Then i migrate to 2.6.3-gentoo-r1 and seems like no problem with bootsplash. ( I tried rebooting 4-5 times )

By the way, this problem occured in 2.6.2-r1 with random times ,for example i rebooted my computer 10 times ,and i saw errors only 1 times. Maybe it's a hardware problem for my comp. dunno really :)
Comment 6 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-20 09:59:23 UTC
Closing as FIXED. Thanks!
