After emerging rhythmbox, Whenever I tried to play a file I got the following 
error message: (when run from console)
MonkeySound-ERROR **: file monkey-media.c: line 431
 (player_setup_thread): assertion failed: (c->priv->osssink != NULL)
 aborting...

After looking through the rhythmbox mailing list, 
( http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=644352&forum_id=897 ) 
I found I needed to install gst-plugins to get anything working.  gstreamer was 
installed, but not gst-plugins.  Shouldn't this be a dependancy of rhythmbox?
