Description Andrew Udvare 2012-06-03 17:06:02 UTC
Trying to build PHP with some USE flags, libjpeg-turbo is triggered and it does not build due to this error during configuration:

checking whether the assembler (nasm -fmacho64 -DMACHO -D__x86_64__) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: assembler cannot create object files.

This is with Xcode 4.3.2's nasm.

The solution is to manually emerge nasm.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up prefix
2. emerge libjpeg-turbo
Actual Results:
Fails to build

Expected Results:
Should emerge nasm from Portage and then build for Prefix. The prefix should not try to use the built in tools from Xcode.

You are using x64-macos? Missing emerge --info so I have to guess.

Would be...

x64-macos? ( ${ASM_DEPEND }

...to the ebuild
