Description Marian Kyral 2012-05-31 13:07:18 UTC
Build fails on:

checking for CANBERRA... no
configure: error: Package requirements (libcanberra-gtk3 >= 0.10) were not met:

No package 'libcanberra-gtk3' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables CANBERRA_CFLAGS
and CANBERRA_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

After manual installation of libcanberra, colorhug compiled. But I still can't run it:

/usr/bin/colorhug-flash

(colorhug-flash:6272): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'com.hughski.colorhug-client' is not installed

According FAQ (http://www.hughski.com/faq.html), I miss some packages. Like gnome-color-manager, gnome-control-center and argyllcms.

What are the minimum software versions?

If you're not using the LiveCD you need at least:

    argyllcms >= 1.4.0
    colord >= 0.1.15
    colorhug-client >= 0.1.4
    gusb >= 0.1.2
    gnome-color-manager >= 3.2.4
    gnome-control-center >= 3.2.2

Let's try something more simple first.
Do you have dconf installed ?

Once you do, see if com.hughski.colorhug-client path is present there.

I've found the solution: http://sastanin.tumblr.com/post/21806209146/gnome-3-settings-schema-not-installed

Then I tried to install gnome-color-manager and gnome-control-center, but there were too many dependencies (as I'm using KDE) so I used live cd at the end.

Now I've found colord-kde (http://dantti.wordpress.com/2012/04/03/colord-kde-0-2-released/) so I'm planning to test it.

I already said, that quite likely neither gnome-color-manager nor gnome-control-center are needed.

Well, it is possible to generate the icc profile via live CD and then use e.g. xcalib to load the profile on kde session start.

There is also media-gfx/dispcalgui. GCC is not required.

* media-gfx/dispcalgui
     Available versions:  (~)0.7.0.7 (~)0.7.3.7 (~)0.7.8.9 (~)0.8.1.9 (~)0.8.5.2 (~)0.8.9.3 (~)0.9.9.1
     Homepage:            http://dispcalgui.hoech.net/
     Description: Display Calibration and Characterization powered by Argyll CMS

Maybe there could be a post installation message about calibration clients.
