Description Ed Presutti 2004-02-15 17:46:14 UTC
When attempting to emerge FreeType 2.1.5, the download of ftdocs-2.1.5 does not work. This file is no longer available. Apparently this problem has been fixed in freetype-2.1.5-r1, but that package is not marked stable on x86.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge freetype-2.1.5
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Portage fails to download ftdocs-2.1.5.tar.bz2 and the emerge fails.

Expected Results:
Successful emerge of the freetype libs.

emerge info output follows...

Portage 2.0.50-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4.22-gentoo-
r5)

Also, freetype hasn't documented their use of the "doc"-use-flag. By disabling doc, which freetype doesn't seem to use (it's not in IUSE="") the process goes just fine. That IUSE has to be fixed, and/or the broken source.
Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-16 03:39:00 UTC
argh, my mistake. The docs just aren't there and they shouldn't be in SRC_URI. They weren't but i accidently moved a diff in that looked for it. Please rsync & try again.
Comment 3 Ed Presutti 2004-02-16 08:55:36 UTC
That seems to have gotten in. FreeType now successfully merges on stable x86. Thanks!
