Description Alexey Skobkin 2012-05-14 02:24:28 UTC
When I eix-sync'ed my portage and tried to do system update by emerge -uDNvaq system, I got this errors:

http://code.skobkin.ru/473 (console logs paste here)

I tried to solve this by adding -ssl to exim USE-flags and reemerge it. But it does not takes effect and cause new problems:
http://code.skobkin.ru/474

emerge --info:
http://code.skobkin.ru/475

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. eix-sync
2. emerge -uDNvaq system
Actual Results:
I have many blocks and can not update my server system.

Just in case update status.
Problem not solved yet.
Comment 7 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-14 14:48:42 UTC
On system #1 it isn't obvious what is blocking the upgrade to mail-mta/exim-4.80, which wouldn't block upgrading dev-libs/openssl and which should resolve the dependency issue there. If the emerge --info output you posted is for that system, then you should already be using the unstable branch for exim, anyway.

On system #2 your attached emerge output is incomplete, it seems, because it doesn't state what is blocking the openssl upgrade.

What's the #2 system? I have only one Gentoo system and all logs i posted was taken on this system.

I was using your naming convention there.
Comment 10 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-19 15:18:57 UTC
You need to update mail-mta/exim, it seems. 4.80 doesn't have the restriction on older versions of dev-libs/openssl.

Next time, please try our web forums or IRC channels for support issues - there is no bug to fix here, just a local system maintenance problem.
