Description Calvin Spealman 2004-02-14 01:07:54 UTC
several times, i have found my system suddenly display multicolored vertical lines on the screen. I try switching vertical terminals and ctrl+alt+bksp, both of which seem to just reset the X server, and bring back the vertical lines. The only fix is a hard reboot.

I am running a stock HP Pavilion 503w with a Celeron 1.7 mhz, 128 megs of ram, and an intel 82845G/GL graphics chipset. I am currently using kernel 2.4.22-gentoo-r5

I'm trying to get my system stable enough to get rid of windows, but this makes me afraid to do so.
