Description TGL 2004-02-13 07:47:50 UTC
This two /bin programs are linked to some /usr libs, and probably won't work if /usr is not mounted. This may be an issue for some maintenance tasks. Maybe libcrack should be installed in /lib instead of /usr/lib, or they should be statically compiled?

Installed versions of the packages:
sys-libs/cracklib-2.7-r8
sys-apps/shadow-4.0.4.1

Reproducible: Always

Not really anything you use when you need to do maintainence (as you need to
be root to switch runlevels anyhow, etc).

I am only not sure what FHS says about su and groups's location. If there
is another issue with them in /bin, and moving will not break them, then
I would rather we do that. If really needed. Reopen if this is an issue.

Okay for the "wontfix", i personnaly don't have any problem with this situation, i was just thiking it was a bit illogical. For FHS, 'su' must be in /bin, but i've not found anything about 'groups'.
