I was using nvidia-drivers and wanted to test some things with nouveau. Some KDE desktop effects (like Desktop cube animation or Flip Switch) didn't work with nouveau. But the problem is they still can't activate after I switched back to nvidia. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new user. 2. Login using nvidia driver, test desktop effects (all working). 3. Follow wiki article http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Nouveau. 4. Reboot, login using nouveau driver, test desktop effects. Some don't activate. I get a notification with the list of them. 5. Revert changes in xorg.conf, /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf, make.conf, use the original kernel. 6. Reboot, login with nvidia driver now, test effects (some still don't work). Screenshot attached. 7. Logout, empty user homedir. 8. Login, test effects (everything is back to normal). So why step 7 is necessary? Look in ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc for "OpenGLIsUnsafe". If this is set to "true": Logout, set it to "false" and log back in. Afaik there is no checkbox for this in systemsettings, but I might be wrong.
OpenGLIsUnsafe is already set to false
We cant do nothing about it. Please report your feature request to upstream.
