Created attachment 25979 [details] build log of same problem I have encountered the same issue - the attached build log for some reason stopped dumping to log at the actual emerge (looks like just the configure?) and went back to stdout. System is an AMD K6-3 on Via MVP3 board, GCC is 3.3.2-r5, glibc is 2.3.2-r9, qt is 3.3.0-r1, kernel is 2.3.23-ck1, cflags just -O3 -march=k6-3. Everything else is in the build log (I think).
Well, this is interesting... "downgraded" to Qt-3.2.3-r1 and it compiled fine. May not have been clear earlier, but the output after it stopped dumping to log when using Qt-3.3.0-r1 looked just like the original bug report. The only change I made before compiling successfully was to re-emerge Qt-3.2.3-r1. I've changed my cflags back to what I normally use, emerge info is as follows (forgot it the first time, sorry): Portage 2.0.50-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4.23-ck1) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.23-ck1 i586 AMD-K6(tm) 3D+ Processor Gentoo Base System version 1.4.3.13 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.7.7 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O3 -march=k6-3 -mmmx -m3dnow -ffast-math -ftracer -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O3 -march=k6-3 -mmmx -m3dnow -ffast-math -ftracer -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" DISTDIR="/files/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirrors.tds.net/gentoo http://cudlug.cudenver.edu/gentoo ftp://helios.dii.utk.edu/pub/linux/gentoo http://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/ http://128.213.5.34/gentoo/ ftp://gentoo.ccccom.com http://gentoo.ccccom.com" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/files/portage/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.us.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X aavm alsa apm arts avi cdr crypt cups fbcon foomaticdb foreign-package gdbm gif gimpprint gnome gnomedb gstreamer gtk gtk2 imlib imlib2 java javascript jikes jpeg kde libwww memlimit mmx mozilla moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mozsvg mozxmlterm mpeg ncurses nomac oss pam pdflib perl pic png python qt readline samba slang slp spell ssl tcltk tcpd tiff truetype x86 xml xml2 xmms xv zlib"
Can you test this against qt-3.3.1? I can't reproduce this here at all; it may be some freakish problem in qt-3.3.0's build scripts.
Can't reproduce, no comment on the bug. Seems like a local problem.
