Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-04-28 11:18:11 UTC
As I have reported to new upstream:
https://forja.rediris.es/tracker/?func=detail&aid=714&group_id=341&atid=1240

Looks like that dicts are being maintained in a completely separated way than libreoffice dicts that can be taken from:

http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/src/3.5.3/libreoffice-dictionaries-3.5.3.1.tar.xz

Then, I am unsure about how "official" are this new spanish dict maintainers. I would be willing to maintain this package, but, at first, I would like to know what dict should we trust more (in any case, lots of words are still missing :S): libreoffice one, firefox one (I need to check this one as maybe it's more actively maintained) or this new one?

Reproducible: Always

Suprise.

We in LO just update them when somebody bugger that there is release. So dont trust those we use in Libreoffice :)

The ustream is possibly official. If you want to help me with the new dictionaries please get in touch with me on query/mail as I have something in progress with rh guys.

Well, I had plans on maintaining myspell-es dictionary downstream because I want to add some commonly used in scientific world (mathematics, physics and biology) spanish words that cannot be upstreamed because they are not accepted by RAE (http://www.rae.es), but they are used at all and commonly accepted in scientific world (I would add them behind a default off "science" USE flag)
