Created attachment 309519 [details, diff] collectd-netlink.patch The collectd netlink plugin, starting with Linux 3.3, is logging the following line (thrice) every monitoring interval (which with a 10s interval is a fair amount of spam). "netlink: 12 bytes leftover after parsing attributes." A quick search reveals issue reported to kernel and netdev list where it's surmised as possibly a problem with libnl but no fixes applied as yet; http://marc.info/?l=linux-netdev&m=133224775608866&w=2 A patch was then posted to collectd mailing list; http://marc.info/?l=collectd&m=133236170824836&w=2 But has not yet been applied to source; http://git.verplant.org/?p=collectd.git;a=history;f=src/netlink.c;hb=HEAD However, I have tested it on my server successfully. This was applied in 5.1.1 which due for bump. See bug 443170.
should be fixed in 5.1.1
