emerge --info

Rebuilding dev-util/cmake-2.8.7-r5 (already installed) due to new curl build ( net-misc/curl-7.25.0-r1 ). emerge *hangs* on cmake build process failing to find Qt 4 libs.

cmake is *not* being built with USE=qt4 because there are no Qt libs on this system. Can't determine why emerge is hanging instead of failing.

Could you please try keywording cmake-2.8.8-r2 and seeing if that one builds right?

If that was directed at me, I'm afraid I can't help. I decommissioned my very last Gentoo machine today.
