Did you mean that it should not? Please make the Summary reflect a desired solution or an actual bug description, instead of the status quo.
Comment 2 C. Wijtmans 2012-04-11 23:29:05 UTC
Ofcourse not.

1 We are in a KDE environment
2 We did not set the wxwidgets use flag
3 wxWidgets includes GTK packages ( see 1)

jeroen@wieneke ~ $ 7zG
/usr/lib64/p7zip/7zG: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_core-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Apparently after uninstalling that GTK thing it stops working.
Comment 6 C. Wijtmans 2012-04-12 02:48:11 UTC
Apparently it wont work because the program is build against wxwidgets library for GTK.

So:
- Why is there a wxwidgets use flag?
- Why is there a kde use flag?

Regardless of the wxwidgets use flags does the program require wxwidgets or not?
Comment 7 C. Wijtmans 2012-04-12 21:28:05 UTC
p7zip contains command line utils.
I cannot emerge this package because it depends on GTK elements, regardless of wxwidgets use flag.
This is a valid bug, thanks for confirming.
