Description Heitzso 2004-02-10 10:36:13 UTC
recently upgraded to gentoo-2.6.1-r1 kernel
attempted to regenerate vmware modules w/ vmware-config.pl
failed
I upgraded vmware-any-any patchset to latest (50)
still fails

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade kernel to gentoo-2.6.1-r1
2. vmware fails to compile with latest patch set
3.

Not certain where the glitch is
Not a big bug in that I can fall back to 2.6.1
(without -r1) where vmware works
Comment 1 Heitzso 2004-02-10 20:19:54 UTC
There is no problem compiling vmware with 2.6.x
kernels. I had snafu'ed on the kernel-blat
naming convention and the vmlinuz- naming convention
generated by 'make install'. So I was actually
running a different kernel than the source
configuration in /usr/src.

I don't know if it is possible to zap a bug
report, but this one deserves to be zapped.
