In bug 406397 we stumbled over a bug caused by epatch when applying a actually "broken" patch without warnings/errors.

Ken (bug 406397#6) mentioned the -F parameter which would/should have helped in this case and thus it would have prevented the breakage.

Could this parameter be interesting for us?

it'd break many patches in the tree.  feel free to use it locally to enforce more strictness in your package.
