splitted in 2 files now : http://www.linuxtv.org/download/dvb/linuxtv-dvb-1.1.0.tar.bz2 http://www.linuxtv.org/download/dvb/linuxtv-dvb-apps-1.1.0.tar.bz2 we have a new release of the DVB drivers for 2.4 and 2.6 kernels. Thanks to all who contributed. Get the tarball at http://linuxtv.org/download/dvb/linuxtv-dvb-1.1.0.tar.bz2 Since this is the first standalone release of the dvb-kernel/ source tree that was initially used to generate the patchsets for the Linux kernel Bitkeeper repository the number of changes is pretty high, check the CVS history if you are interested in a Changelog. The test applications are now distributed in a seperate package Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
if noone objects i'll take care of this while upgrading all dvb related ebuilds
I correct ebuild for support of skystar2
Created attachment 26938 [details] Ebuild correct Ebuild correct for support skystar2
Created attachment 26939 [details, diff] patch for Makefile patch for Makefile install in driver
Changes for linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1: o fixed various timing issues in frontend code to speed up tuning o fixed pointer bug in ring buffer handling which potentially affected common interface communication o fixed av7110 debi functions for ARM64, added better error checking o fixed software demux section filter bug which caused data loss if there were two sections in one TS packet and the first section was smaller than 18 bytes o frontend fixes for ves1820 and stv0299 o added support for Fujitsu-Siemens Activy card o various minor cleanup things Changes for linuxtv-dvb-1.1.0: Too many to list them all ;-) The most important things: o This release is from a different CVS tree (dvb-kernel), which is structured like the Linux kernel source tree. o test/demo applications and utilies are unbundled and released seperately o support for Linux 2.6.x; in fact, this release is a snapshot of the stuff which is part of the 2.6.x kernel o added support for bt8xx based DVB cards and various USB things o completely new saa7146 driver, which is shared among DVB and some analog TV cards o firmware binaries are not part of the release because of licensing problems; see the README for information where to get http://www.linuxtv.org/download/dvb/linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1.tar.bz2
I've been watching this bug for clues as to when the DVB drivers are going to be made to work for 2.6; what can I do as an owner of DVB hardware, running a 2.6 kernel, to speed up the upgrade of all DVB related ebuilds mentioned in comment #1 by Thomas Raschbacher?

there is another ebuild for the 2.4 drivers at http://cvs.berlios.de/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/gentoo-deutsch/ebuilds/media-tv/linuxtv-dvb/ though I haven't tested as moved to 2.6 from http://www.linuxtv.org/news/js/branch24.xml it maybe wise to encourage upgrading to 2.6 rather than spending time on the 2.4 drivers
Created attachment 34716 [details] makedev.napi standard makedev.napi script not included with the linuxtv-dvb-apps tarball to put in the files directory
Will linuxtv-dvb-1.1.0 ever be included in the portage tree? And what about all dependecies which still try to install linuxtv-dvb-1.0.1? In Comment #1, Thomas Raschbacher wanted to fix related ebuilds. Will they appear in the portage tree at some time?
checking
When you put stable in portage ? My mplayer without this emerge does not compile with dvb support. Thanks
1.1.1 has been in portage for quite a while now.
