Neither there is no scsi boot option to force scsi device recognition, nor the devices are configured automatically which makes an installation on a scsi only machine very difficult. That was tested with some livecd's Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot the iso on a SCSI only computer. 2. Choose any kernel option you want (gentoo, experimental) Actual Results: Boot process stops since no scsi devices (cdrom, hds) are available. Expected Results: Boot process should complete without problems. 20040206 iso tested on a Dell PowerEdge 4300, which has an Adaptec 7880U controller.
Did you boot with "kernelname doscsi"? (Hit F2 to see the various options).
option was not available under 2004.0 test isos (when the bug was submited), but is back in 2004.0 final iso. So I will close the bug as fixed.
