As explained in debian report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=663921 mongrel stopped being actively developed in 2007, and upstream just says use $alternative instead. It has no reverse dependencies, and using e.g. thin in its place is trivial. Looks like all packages needing it in the tree are optional deps Do you agree with treecleaning it? Reproducible: Always

I'm using it on a daily basis. When we run into security issues or when the package breaks with new ruby features we can consider removing it.
