Created attachment 306635 [details] complements of the gentoo forum thread on this bug The 2012 livedvd (at least for amd64) has an unwanted easter egg that pops up whenever ctrl-b is pressed anywhere on the desktop. Being a lifetime emacs user, I suspect a member of the release team is either a lifetime vi user out trolling or a member of al-qaida. May I suggest that this easter egg be moved to a multi-keystroke combination so that it is less likely to interfere with normal workflow? Maybe put it on esc-q-! instead? Forum discussion is on this thread: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-917736-highlight-.html
Will think about this one, thanks for reporting.
This is an incredibly annoying "feature" and I request its immediate removal. Also, whoever added this "feature" also added a global shortcut that makes the following image appear: http://i.imgur.com/ovL3d.png It appears to be configured via KDE under Keyboard Shortcuts -> Custom Shortcuts -> Preset Actions And stored under what appears to be intentionally deceptive names : "PrintSpool" is the name for the one that displays Bacon, and "SysQueue" is the name for the one that shows the above image. Command URL's are set to: python ~/.config/likewhoa/bacon.py and ~/.config/likewhoa/ee.py respectively. Instead of arguing rationale for removing these, I'd counter with requesting what rationale was proposed for their inclusion, as these serve no practical purpose, and are actively annoying ( not to mention difficult to discover and difficult to remove ) . ( trying to type ^V^G in a shell is impossible, as the kde shortcut intercepts it ... )
This easter egg was removed in latest iso.
