I've been told otherwise, but I still keep on my opinion. The Midnight Commander Package is in the wrong place. Right now it sits under 'gnome-extra' but should be somewhere below maybe app-misc, cause IT IS NOT a GNOME-application, and has never been. It is a console app based on ncurses, no GTK, no GLIB, no GNOME, NEVER! There IS a package under GNOME thats called the GNOME-Midnight-Commander 'gmc', but 'mc' as itself is not dependend on that. Otherwise might the 'gmc' depend on 'mc', but therefore, i have the dependencies in the ebuild to fetch and build 'mc' before. And btw., the 'gmc' package is not in the tree anyway. Though, I hope you will fix that in the portage tree. kesselhaus
Actually it is a gnome package. if you check the homepage and src_uri information... the thing is that since it has become a gnome project the only correct way to place it is in gnome-extra.
