i get the same error when created an build for _rc2 or when try to compile the svn version (-9999). when I remove the following lines: for d in \ . \ lib/{libdvd/lib*/,cpluff,libapetag,libid3tag/libid3tag} \ xbmc/screensavers/rsxs-* \ xbmc/visualizations/Goom/goom2k4-0 do [[ -e ${d}/configure ]] && continue pushd ${d} >/dev/null eautoreconf popd >/dev/null done from src_prepare() function from the ebuild, the configure passes this check and fails on the following: configure: WARNING: cannot find library containing definition of pow configure: error: Could not find a required library. Please see the README for your platform. if I compile from sources I get that same error. maybe i should open another bug report for this error but just in case attaching config.log from new compile.

Profiling conflicts with the -pie option in your hardened gcc profile. I guess either disabling the "profile" USE flag on xbmc or switching to vanilla/hardenednopie gcc profile would help.
thank you. it resolved the configuration issues :)
That USE flag should be masked in the hardened profiles, I guess?

cool thanks!
