If gcc-4.6.2 is unmasked and installed alongside with 4.5.3, with 4.5.3 being the main compiler and both gcc versions having the "gcj" USE flag, javah fails with: libgcj linkage failure: Incorrect library ABI version detected Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure that sys-devel/gcc has the "gcj" USE flag enabled 1. Install gcc-4.5.3 2. Unmask and install gcc-4.6.2, but don't use it 3. Make sure that gcc-4.5.3 is the main compiler 4. Install dev-java/gcj-jdk-4.5.3 5. Attempt to install dev-java/icedtea-7.2.1 Actual Results: Installation of icedtea fails Expected Results: icedtea should compile successfully I am sure that it is a gcc-4.6.2 related bug, because uninstallation of this unused compiler allowed me to install icedtea.

Failed to reproduce using gcj-jdk-4.5.4-r1 gcj-jdk-4.6.3-r3 gcj-jdk-4.7.2 and icedtea-7.2.3.4. Since your report there where some larger changes in gcc-config and bugfixes in gcj-jdk. If you can still reproduce this issues please attach the build.log as well as the config.log for icedtea and reopen this bug. Thanks.
Sorry for not providing the info. The machine that had gcj-jdk got completely reinstalled and does not need it anymore. I hope to retry reproducing the bug, but, if I don't leave any reply in the next two weeks, please close it as WORKSFORME.
