KDM 3.2 and any betas i tried do not allow typing, so I'm forced to use GDM at this time. There seems to be no reactionn to any keystroke, not even Ctrl+Alt+F1 does what it should. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: display any characters when a key is pressed... ;) I reported this to KDE bugs aswell, and there seems to be another Gentoo user with the same problem, but no answers yet. see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73014 The kdm.log looks like this: [root at loona ~]# tail /var/log/kdm.log (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. Look at my post at the kde bugs site. It seems that it was a configureation problem in /usr/kde/3.2/share/config/kdm/Xservers, where X was configured for vt7; I was using vt1-vt9 for the console; changing the config in this file to vt10 resolved the problem.
so this can be closed, right? Setting to UPSTREAM, as there is a bug at bugs.kde.org handling this. Thanks.
