I can verify this. I've heard the latest autoconf is buggy so I'll try downgrading it, emerging gnome-pim, and then re-updating it.
Comment 2 Brant Gurganus 2004-02-19 08:52:16 UTC
Indeed, it installed fine after downgrading autoconf.
Comment 3 Rick Jenkins 2004-06-17 10:19:08 UTC
Which version of autoconf did you use for your successful install, please?
Comment 4 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2004-06-20 14:18:42 UTC
I tried downgrading to autoconf-2.58-r1, and it failed with the same error.
Upgrading to autoconf-2.59-r4 (~x86) allowed the gnome-pim emerge to complete.
Comment 5 Rick Jenkins 2004-07-04 14:38:15 UTC
Thanks, Peter, this works well for me. The same errors show up, but are not taken as fatal.
Comment 6 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-18 07:09:58 UTC
no further reports, a newer version of the auto* tools is stable, so i'm gonna assume this is not problematic anymore.
