When trying to emerge AA, I get the following error: emerge americas-army Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> emerge (1 of 1) games-fps/americas-army-200a to / !!! File is corrupt or incomplete. I've tried to re-emerge it over and over again (deleting the file in question each time, natch); regardless, it fails the same way.
not much we can do for you ... try a different mirror perhaps ? the md5sums have been independently verified
Hmm. It wasn't downloading from any of the mirrors I specified (some place in .de). What mirrors are good for this one? Good to hear they've been independently verified. Paranoia is a Good Thing. :)
You could always go to http://www.americasarmy.com and download the files yourself, then put them in your /usr/portage/distfiles directory. wolf31o2@workbox distfiles $ ls -la army* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9077020 Jan 8 15:10 armyops-lnx-patch-200to200a.tar.bz2 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 686456601 Dec 1 10:46 armyops200-lnx.run

Hhmmm. I got the same md5sum as Joseph. It seems that there are different versions of the file. When looking at americas-army's site, I only find references to one file : the 2.00a version. 2.00 is not available anymore. Maybe time for a new ebuild?
chris: the upgrade from 200 to 200a seems complete ... the mirrors i checked only have 200a and 200-200a available for download anymore last i looked they still had 200, but i guess no more
I'll take a look at it... it would sure be easy if the mirror admins would quit removing the previous versions.... ;p
Well, I have a fixed version in CVS... I didn't version bump it, so no need to reinstall if you already have a working install.
The fixed version doesn't work on any of the given mirrors for me. It looks for a directory americas-army on the servers, but it should be looking in americasarmy. Change ${PN} to ${PN/-/} perhaps?
Funny enough, this is something I caught and changed locally in my repository but had forgotten to commit it. Thanks for pointing it out.
