Description Wolfgang Thiess 2004-02-06 01:31:43 UTC
Opening kuickshow in KDE 3.2.0 in normal mode, it works fine. When entering fullscreen mode (<ctrl><shift>F), I get a black screen with only the cursor visible. After switching back to normal mode, the window resizes to the size before. It keeps black, whatever I do (selecting next image, slideshow etc), it just resizes to the size of the image. Selecting Fullscreen mode in preferences results in the same black screen.

In KDE 3.1.5 on this computer, kuickshow doesn't show this bug.

My System is:
Athlon-tbird on EPoX 8KTA3/+
ATI Xpert@Work (Rage Pro)
x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r3 -3dfx -sse -mmx -3dnow +xml2 +truetype +nls -cjk -doc -ipv6 -debug -static +pam -sdk -gatos

I have a second computer (very different hardware), running a SuSE 9.0 with SuSE's KDE 3.2. It doesn't show this bug.
Comment 1 Derick Swanepoel 2004-02-07 04:59:04 UTC
KDE's Bugzilla reports this bug as resolved (fixed): http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66784

It is fixed with Qt 3.3.
Comment 2 Julien Allanos (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-11 11:04:36 UTC
is qt 3.3 stable enough to be marked as stable? or does it bring known bugs, so i should wait for fixes?
Comment 3 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-11 11:07:20 UTC
Just marked Qt 3.3 as x86 stable a few minutes ago.
Comment 4 Wolfgang Thiess 2004-02-13 03:51:16 UTC
Works for me now (using stable qt-3.3.0 on x86).

Still faulty on PPC due to stable kde-3.2.0, using stable qt-3.2.3-r1.
Comment 5 Julien Allanos (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-13 04:25:03 UTC
emerged qt-3.3.0. kuickshow is still broken, more than before: opening an image from konqueror with kuickshow does nothing. actually, kuickshow opens but doesn't display anything. i have to maximize it from the taskbar to see something. fullscreen mode doesn't work.
Comment 6 Wolfgang Thiess 2004-02-14 04:45:48 UTC
> opening an image from konqueror with kuickshow does nothing

Not true for me. I re-emerged kdelibs-3.2.0 and kdebase-3.2.0 (not kdegraphics) for other reasons. Maybe it has something to do with that.
Comment 7 Julien Allanos (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-14 09:15:13 UTC
recompiled everything: same thing. i'm using fluxbox-0.9.8. i tried with pekwm and without wm: kuickshow still displays black.
Comment 8 STefan 2004-02-15 08:43:59 UTC
I also emerged qt3.3.0 then reemerged kdelibs after that kuickshow works perfectly and the blac fullscreen mode is gone, graphics display correctly.
Comment 9 Julien Allanos (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-13 11:42:30 UTC
now works for me with kde-3.2.2.
Comment 10 Wolfgang Thiess 2004-05-23 08:52:28 UTC
It works in kde-3.2.2. I think, this bug can be closed.
Comment 11 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-14 13:43:38 UTC
Right, closing.
