today I have updated transcode from version 0.6.9 to 0.6.11. Together with transcode also avifile and libdvdread where upgraded. After that upgrade I had problems with dvdrip. Libdvdread always tries to open a file which does not exist in this directory ( VIDEO_TS.IFO ) Here is the last output when running dvdrip: -------------------------- snip -------------------------- Job 'Transcoding video - title #1, pass 1' failed. Executed command: mkdir -m 0775 -p '/mnt/music/DivX/LolaRennt/tmp' && cd /mnt/music/ Last output was: transcode v0.6.11 (C) 2001-2003 Thomas Oestreich, 2003 T. Bitterberg libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Couldn't find device name. libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO. Created attachment 25034 [details] Output of strace running dvdrip This is the output of "strace -fF dvdrip" when this bug occurs.
Anything new ? Have not heard anything about the ongoings ...
dvdrip is used to make backups from dvd maybe you did some wrong settings in transcode try transcode 0.6.12
I think I had a similar problem and I solved it using the following link: http://www.exit1.org/dvdrip/doc/faq.cipp#faq11 Maybe we want to see if it works for you too.
