As seen on Planet Gnome and http://www.gnome.org/~markmc/blog/ May need some work to separate the client (requires java <yuk>) and the server components, but it works for now. (well, almost - you'll have to do a lsof -c vino-server to work out what port it's actually listening on) Ebuild and patch for compile error to follow.

Created attachment 25017 [details, diff] Patch to fix compile error
This should have little priority, pre-beta software.
my idea
Created attachment 26740 [details] Bumped ebuild (version 0.14) Patch no longer needed.
@ the ebuild, the libbonobo dep tricks aren't really necessary, just depend on libbonobo alone -> it always implies bonobo-activation if needed. let src_unpack & SRC_URI be handled by the gnome2 eclass.
Created attachment 26766 [details] Cleaned 0.14 ebuild Changes made, thanks.
This has now hit version 2.7.4 and has been propsed for the GNOME 2.8 modules list. Does someone fancy keeping tabs on this one to make sure the 2.8 jump doesn't wreak havoc? http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/vino/NEWS?view=markup
cleaned up the proposed ebuild a bit & added net-misc/vino-2.7.4 to the tree p.mask-ed so it can get some testing. Thanks for the effort.
Forgive me if I've missed something (or this has changed in the 12 hours since my last emerge), but there is no net-misc/vino in portage even though vino is masked in package.mask An oversight?
correct, i never did the final commit *duh*
now fixed & added 2.7.91 in the process
