Description Ernst Sjöstrand 2004-02-05 06:06:11 UTC
First I installed kdelibs 3.2 (and kdebase, arts...)
Then QT 3.3
Then I tried to emerge kdenetwork.

Conflict in /usr/kde/3.2/lib/kde3/plugins/designer/kdewidgets.so:
  Plugin uses incompatible Qt library!
expected build key "ppc Linux g++-3.* full-config no-ipv6", got "ppc Linux g++-3.* full-config".
configure:27883: $? = 0
configure:27897: result: no
configure:27900: error: you need to install kdelibs first.

Not good?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

sounds like you're need to upgrade kdelibs and kdebase first.
Comment 2 Ernst Sjöstrand 2004-02-06 02:35:04 UTC
They were upgraded to KDE 3.2, but the problem is this:

When you install QT 3.3 you have to Remerge (any version of) kdelibs (for kdewidget plugins to uidesigner) AND kdeartwork (the themes also have the "Plugin uses incompatible Qt library! expected build key "ppc Linux g++-3.* full-config no-ipv6", got "ppc Linux g++-3.* full-config".")

Maybe you could make a patch so that QT keeps the same string (for other people)?
(I do not have ipv6 in use and never has)

I could, but I don't think it would work as the jump from 3.2 -> 3.3 changes a few other things as well. I think a re-merge (of at least kdelibs) is going to be necessary.

can confirm that re-emerging kdelibs fixes the problem
