If the custom command field in =x11-terms/gnome-terminal-2.32.1 profile settings (gconf: /apps/gnome-terminal/profiles/Default/custom_command use_custom_command=true) launches gnome-terminal with the --tab parameter, gnome-terminal loops in an finite launch/crash cycle. @gnome, can any team member check with gnome-terminal-3?
Could anybody check with latest gnome-terminal-3?
This is a perfect example of not understanding what this setting does. It is meant to configure the shell being started, not the terminal. Doing this effectively creates and infinite loop. Spawning a g-t spawns a new g-t tab which spawns a new g-t tab, etc until resource exhaustion or some other limit like tab width in gtk. If this is trouble to you, please report to upstream as for me, this is just bad usage. To clean this up, just use gsettings/dconf-editor or gconf-editor to reset the setting.
