building the automake 1.8.2 ebuild, I get failure with an old autoconf: configure: error: Autoconf 2.58 or better is required. Turns out it needs the above. So... easy solution, needs to be a dep. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. have an autoconf <= the version described above 2. try to emerge automake 1.8.2 3. Actual Results: configure: error: Autoconf 2.58 or better is required. !!! ERROR: sys-devel/automake-1.8.2 failed. !!! Function src_compile, Line 110, Exitcode 1 !!! (no error message) Expected Results: success
odd, i thought the ebuild had that in DEPEND fixed in cvs
This error shows up in the 2004.3 stage 2 install of gentoo also.. I found a couple of others with the same problem, as it is not there yet. doing a 'emerge system' and this is with 1.8.5-r1 the forum page is here.-> http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1828036#1828036 if this needs a new bug, I could not find one and have not posted in bugzilla before. I am trying the 'emerge --resume --skipfirst' method it errored on coreutils and then I am running 'emerge system' again and it looks ok now. -=tbn=-
this has been fixed already make sure your portage sync is up-to-date
it just happened to me from the portage snap shot and the stage 2 from 2004.3 last night. nov 30 2004. With an 'emerge system' and after 'emerge --sync' and before the 'emerge --sync' with the snap shot from 2003.4. So fixed or not the problem needs to be corrected with the live cd as the problem is still rampant. Has the one in charge of live cd been made aware?? could a live cd of 2004.3a be compliled and made avaible. -=tbn=-
